FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is civilian registration really free?
Yes โ completely free, forever. Civilians are the backbone of the platform and we will never charge them. The platform is funded by law enforcement agency subscriptions.
Can law enforcement access camera footage directly?
No. Big Brother Cams is a contact registry only. Agencies see who has cameras and how to reach them โ but all footage sharing is arranged directly between the officer and the camera owner. The owner always has the right to decline.
How is civilian privacy protected?
Civilian names, addresses, and contact information are never visible to the public. They only appear to verified, subscribing law enforcement agencies. On the public map, civilians appear as anonymous pins.
How do you verify law enforcement agencies?
Agencies register with their ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) number, which is a unique federal identifier assigned to every law enforcement agency in the US. We verify this before granting access.
What areas do you cover?
Big Brother Cams is available nationwide across all 50 states. Any law enforcement agency in the US can subscribe, and any civilian anywhere can register their cameras.
Can agencies cancel their subscription?
Yes โ cancel anytime. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. No long-term contracts required.
